Profile

Professor Christopher Chao’s research work covers aerosol and gaseous contaminant transport in indoor environments, solar and waste heat driven adsorption cooling system, passive radiative cooling, nanofluid heat transfer, bio-inspired heat transfer, combustion, etc. He is a Regional Editor of Journal of Indoor and Built Environment, Editor of Energy and Buildings, and is on the Editorial Board of several International Journals (Indoor Air, Building and Environment, Building Simulation, etc). He received numerous international awards including the Yaglou Award by the International Academy of Indoor Air Sciences, the Ralph G. Nevins Physiology and Human Environment Award by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, etc. He has also been active in Engineering Accreditation service and chaired the Review Visit to Peru in 2017 for their Washington Accord application.
