Profile

Professor Martin Wong obtained his PhD in CS from UIUC. He started his academic career at UT-Austin as an assistant professor and eventually promoted to an endowed chair professor in CS. Prof. Wong returned to his alma mater UIUC in 2002. He was the Edward C Jordan Professor in ECE. From August 2012 to December 2018, he was the Executive Associate Dean of the College of Engineering at UIUC. In January 2019, he joined CUHK as the Dean of Engineering. He joined Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) in August 2023 as the Provost of the University and a Chair Professor of Computer Science. Prof. Wong published over 450 papers and graduated more than 50 PhD students.
