Profile

Professor Yin is a world-leading scholar and innovative researcher/engineer and has made outstanding contributions to Hong Kong and the World. His two methods have been adopted by Canadian Foundation Engineering Manual. His originally proposed non-linear rheology theory has established a new framework for others to follow. His Elastic Visco-Plastic (EVP) constitutive models derived from his rheology theory have been widely used by engineers and researchers. His EVP consolidation analysis of foundation soils was considered a main milestone contribution by international peers. His innovation/patent of a transducer for direct measurement of effective stress is ground-breaking and has solved a "centennially unsolved case".
