Profile

Ir Dr Choi advocates integration of theory and practice and is experienced in strategic engineering management His 39 years of government engineering service culminated in a broad interest in the optimum use of resources in urbanization. He modernized the urban drainage design practice when Hong Kong was transforming to high rise development. The Tsing Ma Bridge deck that maximizes aeroelastic stability is representative of his many design innovations. He developed the LUTO model and used it in the derivation and implementation of the first Territorial Development Strategy. As the Building Authority, he used engineering management principles in designing the new site safety code in 1997. Dr Choi’s current interest is in the integrated solutions to social cum technical problems.
