Ir Professor Chow has been carrying out research on Architectural Science and Fire Engineering for over thirty years with contributions in building fire safety, fire suppression systems, atrium fire engineering, building energy efficiency and indoor environment quality. He is recognized as a leading expert in Computational Fluid Dynamics for building fire simulations and indoor aerodynamics. He has published over 480 refereed journal papers and successfully graduated 50 PhD students. His research results had been applied to assist the government in reviewing fire safety provisions for over 200 construction projects. Professor Chow was appointed as Justice of the Peace by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region with effect from 1 July 2013.
