Profile

As a member of the original RISC-V project team and a founding board member of RISC-V International, Dr. Tan played a pivotal role in the creation and development of the RISC-V architecture. He was deeply involved in introducing the RISC-V architecture to China. He remains a member of the RISC-V International Technical Steering Committee. He is the founder and CEO of RiVAI, a leading RISC-V CPU company in China. Dr. Tan is also a successful serial entrepreneur in the Silicon Valley. He was a founding engineer of Pure Storage (NYSE:PSTG), where he led the design of FlashBlade generating billions of dollar revenue annually. After Pure, he founded OURS Technology (acquired by Aurora, NASDAQ:AUR) building FMCW LiDAR chips for autonomous driving applications. Dr. Tan holds more than 30 US patents in microprocessor designs, flash storage systems and hardware accelerators.
